Xisde: A Musical Journey from Humility to Controversy
Xisde embarked on their musical odyssey in 2003, amidst the bustling streets of Porto Alegre, Brazil. Comprising initially of Maurício Barcellos (vocals, guitar), Paulinho Galvão (bass), and Rodrigo Barba (drums), they embarked on a path filled with challenges and triumphs, eventually becoming one of Brazil's most renowned rock bands.
Their debut album, "666," released in 2006, set the tone for their raw and energetic sound. Its title track, "Lá Vem o Alemão," became an instant anthem, propelling them to mainstream success. However, this newfound fame also brought its share of controversies.
In 2011, a public dispute with another band member, Alexandre "Pinguim" Rüdiger, led to his departure from Xisde. This incident cast a shadow over the group's image, but they persevered, releasing their third album, "Amanhecer," in 2012.
Despite these challenges, Xisde's music continued to resonate with audiences. Their albums, including "Elephantes" (2016) and "Aos Trancos e Barrancos" (2020), showcased their signature blend of hard rock, punk, and reggae influences.
Xisde has also made a name for themselves through their energetic live performances, captivating crowds with their raw and unrestrained energy. They have graced the stages of countless festivals and toured extensively throughout Brazil and South America.
