Formed in 2005, Samoht initially consisted of vocalist Mikko Heikkilä, guitarist Janne Ahtiainen, bassist Aleksi Munter, and drummer Antti Hiltula. Their debut album, "Chaosophia," released in 2007, showcased a raw and energetic blend of melodic death metal and blackened thrash.
The band's reputation grew through relentless touring and the release of critically acclaimed follow-up albums, including "Procession of the Dead" (2009) and "Scorn Aesthetics" (2011). "Myspace" and the Controversy

Member Changes and Challenges
Throughout their career, Samoht faced several lineup changes and personal challenges. In 2013, bassist Munter left the band, replaced by Sami Mustonen. Drummer Hiltula departed in 2016, with Antti Pentikäinen taking his place.
Heikkilä's struggles with mental health and drug abuse also impacted the band's stability. In 2018, he announced his departure from Samoht, citing personal reasons. Despite these setbacks, the band has remained active with Heikkilä returning in 2019.
