However, the band's rapid ascent was marred by controversy. Campbell's outspoken lyrics, which often explored themes of violence and despair, drew the ire of critics who accused them of promoting nihilism. Despite the backlash, Raging Speedhorn remained unapologetic, embracing their status as outsiders.

Meteoric Rise and Creative Turbulence

Yet, behind the scenes, the band struggled with internal conflicts. Morrice departed in 1999, and was replaced by Ricky Warwick. Regan and Loughlin also left shortly thereafter, leaving Campbell as the only remaining original member.
