Emerging from the picturesque Icelandic town of Garðabær, Of Monsters and Men began their journey as friends sharing a passion for music. The band's original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, guitarist and vocalist Ragnar Þórhallsson, keyboardist and vocalist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, and bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson.
