Michael David Hucknall (born June 8, 1960) is an English singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the lead vocalist of the pop rock band Simply Red.
Early Life and Career Hucknall was born in Denton, Manchester, England. He formed Simply Red in 1985 after leaving the band The Frantic Elevators. The band's debut album, "Picture Book," was released in 1985 and achieved platinum status in the UK.
