Stone Sour: A Journey Through Glass

Origins and Formation

Stone Sour emerged from the ashes of the legendary band Slipknot. In 1992, vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist James Root, along with drummer Joel Ekman and bassist Josh Rand, formed a side project called Stone Sour. The band's name was inspired by an alcoholic drink concocted by Ekman.

Early Success and Challenges

Their debut album, "Stone Sour," released in 2002, showcased their unique blend of heavy metal and melodic rock. The album spawned the hit single "Get Inside," propelling the band to mainstream success. However, internal conflicts and personal struggles led to Ekman and Rand's departure in 2006.

Revitalization and Controversies

In 2006, Roy Mayorga and Johnny Chow joined Stone Sour, marking a new era for the band. Their second album, "Come What(ever) May," featured a more polished and accessible sound and went platinum. However, the album also sparked controversy over perceived religious themes in the song "Through Glass."
